If we already knew that Samsung would unveil the Galaxy Note 4 today, nobody (almost) no one expected that the manufacturer will unveil the Edge rating.
That’s it. After months of leaks and rumors, Samsung unveils the Galaxy Note 4 at IFA 2014 in Berlin. To summarize, the Galaxy Note 4 stays true to Samsung’s range rating, but acquires a few new features, some of which are inherited from the Galaxy S5.
Under the hood, the new high-end processor will have a 2.7 GHz Quad-Core 1.9 GHz or Octa-Core (1.9GHz Quad 1.3GHz Quad-Core +), by region.
RAM memory is 3GB. The internal memory is 32 GB, expandable with a microSD card. As for the battery, it is 3220 mAh. Everything is of course Android Kit Kat.
Despite its resemblance to the Galaxy Note 3 Note 4 the still brings a new level of design. Indeed, like the Galaxy Alpha, it is wearing a metal frame. On the back, we still have this plastic “faux leather”.
At the screen, we also have the new. Indeed, the successor to the Note 3 has a Quad HD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED screen, Super, measuring 5.7 inches diagonally – Full HD against the previous Galaxy Note.
And finally, the Galaxy Note 4 has a 16-megapixel camera (with autofocus and image stabilization) on the back and a 3.7 pixel camera that seems to have been optimized for selfies in front.
A compromise between specifications and features?
Although the specifications of the new high-end Samsung are rather interesting, it did not forget functionality.
One finds many that are inherited from the Galaxy S5, the Ultra Power Saving modes, Download Booster, the fingerprint scanner and the little meter heartbeat next to the rear camera. But the big news of this smartphone is its UV sensor.
There are also some software upgrades and the addition of new features for the S Pen.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, another Phablette
For once, Samsung has not only unveiled Note 4 but also another called phablette Note Edge.
If you remember, he was a long time, Samsung had made it a technology called Youm and a prototype smartphone with (maybe I express myself badly) on a screen edge. This time, South Korea has apparently decided to turn the prototype into a product.
More exactly, it is in excess of a single screen and is curved on one end. The usefulness of this extra screen tip is that it will allow viewing of notifications and other information when the main screen is not in the field of view of the user.
Aside from this little fantasy that could be worth the innovator to Samsung, the Galaxy Edge is just about the same specifications as the smartphone Note 4.
It remains to know whether the new Galaxy Note can do something about one version of the iPhone 6 which, according to rumors, will have a screen of 5.5 inches. Yes, Apple phablette.
